And Still More Mixing.

It snowed yesterday, which was fantastic. I drove around in it in my rented Chevy Monte Carlo--a perverse and hilarious vehicle.

Word To The Snow!!!!

Posted by: Bryon Parker at December 3, 2004 8:48 AM

well at this Christmas time i am not filled with cash so I may have to forego the amazon wish list, but i have a great recipe for chai that's been used in my family for years. same recipe, same metal pot with my grandfather's name scratched in the side.

i figure just about three or four mugs/cups full of water in a pot. if you can get it add chai masala (found at any fine indian store-being in nyc you should have no problem), about a teaspoon or to taste. cut up some ginger, about four finger width slices or, again, to taste. three or four cloves of cardamom, peeled and crushed (to let the flavor out) and three teabags (any variety, lipton will do).

boil.

add milk or any form of it until it achieves the color. you'll know. it's like adding cream to coffee.

boil.

simmer for a minute.

serve with sugar.

if you're really adventurous you can try using tea grounds instead of tea bags.

hope it's ok.

happy holidays, mike

Mike, Have you seen the Hollidazzle parade yet?

Posted by: Ali at December 3, 2004 10:11 AM

Hey, I know someone who received one of those free, one of those Chevy Monte Carlos. Not only free, but bright red and in excellent condition and low miles for a '98. The hilarious and perverse part of his story is that he does not wear the car well, or vice versa. They just do not suit each other. A few months later and I still do not recognize him in the car. As for me, I was riding shotgun to and from Toronto (from Nashville, yes, Nashville, TN) and I have to say, I felt perverted and luxurious with all of that leg room.

Let me clarify - the bright red is not a positive trait.

One more thought. The word luxurious...

mike, just wanted to comment that the $14 "international" shipping to Canada for the re-release+tshirt is a real kick in the ass.

And in case you actually read this, that KEXP session you did was awesome. Hopefully the doveman will appear on the new album.

You should take that up with MusicToday, not Mike.

And, why complain? It's Christmas time. Jebus.

good point. i shall contact musictoday.

and i'm no complainer. its not like the shipping is stopping me from purchasing it. just thought i'd comment.

When the last rose of summer pricks my finger
And the hot sun chills me to the bone
When I can't hear the song for the singer
And I can't tell my pillow from a stone
I will walk alone by the black muddy river
And sing me a song of my own
I will walk alone by the black muddy river
And sing me a song of my own
When the last bolt of sunshine hits the mountain
And the stars start to splatter in the sky
When the moon splits the southwest horizon
With the scream of an eagle on the fly
I will walk alone by the black muddy river
And listen to the ripples as they moan
I will walk alone by the black muddy river
And sing me a song of my own
Black muddy river
Roll on forever
I don't care how deep or wide
If you got another side
Roll muddy river
Roll muddy river
Black muddy river roll
When it seems like the night will last forever
And there's nothing left to do but count the years
When the strings of my heart start to sever
And stones fall from my eyes instead of tears
I will walk alone by the black muddy river
And dream me a dream of my own
I will walk alone by the black muddy river
And sing me a song of my own
And sing me a song of my own

bee, I love it.

And, you can divine your future from the grounds in the bottom of the cup when you're done. :=)

That's my problem.... my future is at the bottom of a cup (mug).
As the saying goes, "I suddenly relized I forgot what I was talking about".
