The Land of Road.

Hello from the bizarre marble lobby of a hotel in downtown Toronto that clearly saw its best days in the early 70s. I'm on the second town of this leg of the tour--we had a fine show in Toronto last night, and three fine shows in Pittsburgh before that. No matter how much rehearsal I do, I always feel rusty at the top of a tour--after four shows, my voice is beginning to feel like my voice again, but my strumming hand still feels like it's made of meat.
Apparently we haven't sold many tickets for tonight's two shows in Toronto. I was informed that it's Canadian Thanksgiving. Oh. Dearest Canucks, if you aren't too waylaid by being stuffed with food, and weary from being beset by relatives, come by?
I'm feeling great--it's fabulous to be out on the road with Scrap, our tour manager Chuck, and our newest Road Friend, the estimable duchess of merch, Mai. She's short. And friendly.
Some things about the tour--
--Mai and Chuck have rigged up a fancy recorder/burner, so every night, after every gig, you'll be able to buy a CD of that very show--as you walk out the door! None of this you-get-a-card-so-you-can-download-tomorrow stuff.
--if we're playing multiple gigs in your town, the shows will be different. As in, different songs, not just the same songs jumbled up in a different order.
Also, after years of resolutely keeping my Facebook profile confined to friends of mine from Real Life, I've decided to open it up to anybody who'd like to friend-ize me. I'd love it if you would: facebook.com/MikeDoughtywastaken.
Anyway. In the words of Bartles and Jaymes, thanks for your support.
