So, I’m doing this thing–which I’d like you to join–I’ll call the LO-FI LODGE. It’s 32 unreleased recordings–11 are songs that haven’t been released in any version whatsoever, and many are spun-around versions of tunes that changed bigtime, with surprising parts added or subtracted.

Here is the scheme: you sign up, and you’ll get one song per week for 32 joyous weeks.

It’s $20.

There’s acoustic versions of songs from Golden Delicious and Yes and Also Yes that I did for their respective producers before embarking on the album, digital 8-track versions of Haughty Melodic tunes, tunes done for the soundtrack of the movie “Evenhand”, songs from Haughty and Golden Delicious that began with other producers, until I decided to go a different direction. And–as they say–much much more.

(In actual fact, probably just half of it is legitimately lo-fi)

The track will be emailed to you weekly; there’ll also be a site to download them from, with a password.

Registration closes on April 27, so make sure you join before then.

Did you hear the thing about me playing a capsule of an antidepressant on YES AND ALSO YES? It happens to be true. Here’s a video of me holding the little tiny capsule up to a mic and shaking it percussively on some tunes:

Now, the tour curves into the Mighty Midwest, and I’m stoked. The band sounds RIDICULOUSLY tight. I kind of used James Brown’s “Love Power Peace” 1972 live album as a model for this show–it’s like a fully realized, cohesive, propulsive set sequence of songs–like a truck with wings and a rocket engine.
